Due to the proximity to Ingolstadt Village, we spontaneously decided to book 2 nights including half board in this hotel. The goal was to come down a bit in the Corona crisis. As this hotel doesn't have many rooms, this seemed like the right place. We booked a double room superior, the room was okay, nice view of the castle, adequate size, rainwater shower. One can argue about the further establishment. I didn't find it the timeless design described, but rather a bit old-fashioned. We had incredibly heavy blankets that were not breathable, which unfortunately deprived us of sleep the first night. In my opinion, these blankets are more for a very cold winter. When the problem was reported at the front desk, the blankets were immediately exchanged for thinner ones. The wellness area is not very large, which we knew beforehand. You have a wonderful view of the castle from the wellness area. The water temperature in the outdoor pool could have been a bit warmer. Otherwise you have to wear a mask when entering the area and disinfect the loungers before and after use. So far so good. Unfortunately, you have to look for trash cans to dispose of the disinfectant wipes. At noon we went to the cafe to have a cappuccino and a cake. When entering the cafe, an employee in sweatpants sat on the table .. He jumped up immediately when we came, but it made a dingy impression on us. Cake there were 2 frozen cakes to choose from, the taste was okay, the cappuccino tasted very watery and was not good. It's a shame that they don't offer home-baked cakes or that the hotel gets cakes from a regional bakery. As we walked through the hotel, we repeatedly noticed employees who only wore their masks on their chins, which seemed unprofessional to us and which also made us uncomfortable. The dinner was delicious, the quality was very good and the waiter (unfortunately no name known) did his job very well. The atmosphere in the room was somewhat clouded by the timeless, elegant decoration in the form of creepy curtains and dirty mirrors and crooked pictures. The awesome was the piano music from CD, it felt like at a funeral. Because of all these facts, we left one evening earlier and there was no sense of guilt even with the reasons for this at the reception desk. We simply cannot relax during this Corona time, in our opinion the hotel has also contributed zero to this. It was not conveyed credibly that hygiene concepts play a major role here. It's a shame, that should be a little honeymoon for us. All in one one can say that we recently spent our wedding night in a 5 ***** hotel in Munich, the rating of this hotel with 4 **** superior is absolutely a mystery. What we want to emphasize positively is that Mr. Ganter (external masseur) did the massages very well and in compliance with the hygiene standards. He knows his craft very well!
Very nice hotel, very clean! The staff were all very friendly, especially the cleaning ladies! I can recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to take a break.
Not a star. Same menu for years. Negative price-performance ratio. Salad an impertinence. Service capable and friendly.
We made a stopover (coffee break) while hiking. The staff was very nice and friendly. The view of the Altmühltal and the opposite Willibaldsburg are very beautiful. We haven't done wellness or overnight so far, but have often been there for a coffee.
Friendly staff, nice restaurant always worth a visit ?
well-run restaurant u. hotel
